14 weeks and 5 days & My 3rd Prenatal Visit

This visit was an exciting one for Andy and I. We got to hear the baby's heartbeat!!!! When we went last time we couldn't so this visit was very anticipated. The baby's heartbeat was a strong 144bpm! AND the baby was sitting really low. I don't know... it may be a girl. I heard usually if the baby sits high and has a heart beat around 120 then its a boy, and if it sits low and heart beat is around 140 then it's a girl! So we will see. My next prenatal exam is July 27th and then we get to find out the sex on July 30th!!!! Wooo we really can't wait! Both grandmas are going to be there and Aunt Marissa and maybe Uncle Peter!!! As far as the prenatal exam went everything was very good. My iron, sugar and salt consumption was all low. At 27 weeks I have to go in and get bloodwork done and then a week later a Rhogham shot because my blood type is B- otherwise all is well!!

Colors, Colors, Colors...

Anyone who knows Andy and I know that we both love PAINT. We love a painted room with all the appropriate coordinates. We also jump at any opportunity to redecorate. So with the baby on the way we are more than anxious to start putting together a nursery. The first step was to pick bedding. We got that situated and have established a theme so the next step was PAINT. So off to Lowes we went. Posted below are the colors we picked. The blue and green are definite. We are going to paint from the floor up to about 3/4s of the wall green then the rest the blue to make an "outside scene". We are doing that on 2 walls with GIANT jungle animal decals.(See below the paint) We will also paint on grass, a sun, etc. Now the other 2 walls will be either Macaroni and Cheese (if its a boy) or Purple Berry (if its a girl). Once we move into our 3bdrm which will be early October we will start doing the renovations :) Hope you enjoy!!!!

Jack and Jills Children Boutique

On our way to class one morning Andy and I discovered this little childrens boutique and decided to stop in and see what they had. It turns out they were a "Gently Used" store FULL of great stuff that was like NEW! Everything from car seats to clothes to bottle warmers. They had tons and tons of clothes so as soon as we know the sex of the baby we are going back. The owner was really really nice and showed us lots of goodies. She also explained that she only carried name brand, top of the line items. Which was apparent. We found 2 things that we immediately wanted to get. The one item, which was from the Precious Planet line, was a "floor gym mat" in BRAND NEW condition. Retails for around $50 we got it for $21. The other was a lily pad mat with a Boppy pillow for feeding which retails for about $40 and we got it for $7 and again in almost new condition!!

First piece of baby furniture!!!! :)

So Andy and I went to Ocala this weekend for Andy's birthday. While we were there we went to Target and got the bassinet that we had wanted. It was on sale and we didn't want to pass up the good deal. It is made by Cater's and part of the Just One Year line. I took a picture with my iPhone. I will post more pics later. So cute! We even found matching receiving blankets and swaddle blankets!!! Enjoy :)

10 weeks and 4 days & My 2nd Prenatal Visit

Went to the Drs today for my 2nd prenatal visit. It was a pretty straight forward visit. They weighed me, took a urine sample and talked about how I was feeling. I had no out of the ordinary complaints so the visit went fast. The Dr tried to hear the baby's heartbeat with the doppler device but since I am only 10wks we were unable to hear anything :( But most likely next visit we will be able to! Everything came back good with urine tests. My sugar and salt intake is still pretty low which is also good. That's all there was to really report! Next visit is on June 29th. They should be doing an ultrasound @ that visit as well as hearing the baby's heartbeat! SO EXCITING :):):)
